PONDICHERRY, NOV. 2. Some 100 volunteers of the Dalit Panthers of India were arrested today when they attempted to picket the railway station in support of their demands. The protesters took out a procession on Subbiah Salai to picket the Pondicherry-Tirupati train at therailway station. The party's demands include the creation of a reserved constituency within the urban limits of Pondicherry and deletion of caste namesused as prefixes in the names of Assembly constituencies here.
