THRISSUR, NOV. 2. The social critic and editor of Varthamanam daily Sukumar Azhikode has said that the Industries Minister, P.K. Kunhalikutty, must quit public life in the wake of the widespread allegations against him. He was inaugurating a public meeting organised by the district unit of the Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) here today to protest against the attack on mediapersons and establishments by the Muslim League activists in Kozhikode and Kochi. Dr. Azhikode said that Mr. Kunhalikutty's actions were against the ideals of Islam. He said that Mr. Kunhalikutty and his supporters should not be under the delusion that the media personnel in the State could be cowed down by unleashing mindless violence against them.
