KOCHI, NOV. 2. The Public Works Minister, M.K. Muneer, today denied reports in a section of the media that he had offered to resign from the Cabinet following pressure from the IUML top brass. ``I have not offered to resign and the report is purely a creation of the media,'' Mr. Muneer told mediapersons here. The reports said the IUML leadership was putting pressure on Mr. Muneer to put in his papers following its embarrassment over Indiavision, a channel headed by him, first airing the allegations of sexual abuse against the Industries Minister, P.K. Kunhalikutty. The Minister said he did not interfere in the functioning of the channel and that it had ``absolute freedom'' in all matters relating to news. The channel had also telecast allegations against him on the Expressway project, he said. Mr. Muneer also denied reports that he had been allegedly roughed up by IUML supporters when he went to receive Mr. Kunhalikutty at the Karipur airport. He said efforts were being made to weaken the IUML and tarnish the image of its leaders, which would be resisted. The Minister also criticised the attack on mediapersons in various parts of the State since Monday. PTI
