Stone laid for hostel at Venkateswara College

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, NOV. 2. In today's competitive world only the fittest would survive, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, said here today. Speaking after laying the foundation stone of a hostel block for boys and girls and a research wing with a tutorial block at Sri Venkateswara College here, Dr. Reddy said: "With outsourcing growing at a fast pace, teachers should become more industry-friendly. Though our students are blessed with good knowledge of English it is also important that they speak in the correct accent. This will enable them to be more useful in outsourcing," said Dr. Reddy.

The Rajya Sabha member, T. Subbarami Reddy, urged the Sri Venkateswara College's principal, A. Sankara Reddy, to open new courses to enable students to compete in civil service examinations. The principal informed the audience about the national recognition granted to the college by the University Grants Commission. "Our dream projects to provide the first research facility in Delhi University and have a girls hostel would now be fulfilled," he added.
