During the meeting, Mr Carr apprised the Indian officials about the skills possessed by the NSW companies in staging major sporting events as they have been the organisers, builders and events managers of the supposedly "best games ever'' -- the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Stating that "nowhere else in the world could you find the concentrated skills needed to staged a major international sporting event,'' Mr Carr said: "From building stadiums to putting on spectacular opening and closing ceremonies -- NSW companies won gold medals at the Sydney games''. Assuring the Indian organisers of all help in conduct of the Commonwealth Games here in 2010, the Australian leader said the NSW companies were at present also helping the Chinese with the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2010 Asian Games to be held in Guangzhou. In Beijing, they were developing the initial master plan for the Olympics including the Olympic Stadium, the National Indoor Stadium, the National Aquatic Centre and the International Broadcast Centre. Besides, they were also designing the $200 million athletes' village and the 17,000-seat Beijing Olympics National Swimming Centre. The NSW companies were also providing strategic advice to the Beijing organising Committee and would be providing telecommunications advice during the Games. Finally, they were also designing the Qingdao Olympic Sailing venues and the Olympic shooting venue.
