Street children organise fete
Thirty stalls were put up at the fair offering different food items and games. Some children groups also put up their own stalls and even participated in the various dance competitions. Sushma and Luxmi , both rag-picker who participated in the fair, put up a "fruit chat stall''. "We are almost always seen as untouchables and people don't like to be associated with us. But here we got a good response from everybody,'' said Sushma. The best part of the event however was the presence of more than 30 volunteers from Child Relief and You and Action Aid who facilitated various events. More than 450 people visited the fair and for many it was their first interaction with street children.
Medicity at Gurgaon soon
To be established at a cost of 250 million dollars, the "Medicity'' will be a combination of super specialties like cardiology, neurosciences, oncology and high-end orthopaedic and alternate medicine. Speaking about the new centre which will come up in the next two years, Dr. Trehan said: "This new global centre of medical excellence will become the Mecca of medical integration and holistic practices that are simply not in textbooks today. The concept of this new city of medical excellence is to integrate and explore the new frontiers in the field of medicine and healthcare and also go where no conventional medical institute has ever gone before.''
Athletics meet
Rashi Saili, who won the gold medal in long jump, and Poorava Gandhi, the winner in shot put, have been selected for the national finals. The school also bagged the best school trophy.

Kalam to open farm museum
The Rs 7.5- crore museum is the first such effort in India to reconstruct the beginning of agriculture, its progress over the ages and its present status, an official release said. Established at National Agricultural Science Centre Campus of ICAR, the museum is spread over a floor area of 23,000 sq ft. The ICAR Director General, Mangala Rai, said the exclusive museum has 150 exhibits that were displayed in ten major sections.
