HYDERABAD, NOV. 2. The Jeedimetla police arrested three persons, including a woman allegedly responsible for theft of Rs. 11 lakh cash from the house of a retired General Manager of ACC Limited residing at APIIC Colony in Jeedimetla. The police recovered Rs 10.50 lakh cash. The accused were identified as -- V. Chandrasekhar of IDA Bollaram, N. Shanker of Moosapet and Shyamala, a maidservant in the house of the complainant Mr. B.W. Kurvelkar. According to a press release, Mr. Kurvelkar retired from service and came to Hyderabad from Pune and wanted to purchase a flat in the city. He engaged Shyamala to work as a maidservant. The accused who earlier worked in Chandrasekhar's house about four years ago, introduced the latter to Mr. Kurvelkar. The complainant reportedly asked the two to withdraw Rs.11 lakh from the bank and kept the cash with Shyamala. However, she purchased Rs 1 lakh worth gold ornaments and also bought a motorcycle for Chandrasekhar. According to the police, Chandrasekhar and Shanker stole the amount while Shyamala had gone out on some work. The police worked out on the available leads and the needle of suspicion pointed towards them and subsequently, during interrogation, they confessed to have committed the offence.
