KOLLAM, NOV. 3. Measures by the Department of Science and Technology to promote scientific awareness among the masses through a special programme is being complemented in the districts of Pathanamthitta, Kollam and Idukki by the PN Panikkar Manava Vikas Kendra. The Kendra is carrying forward the programme in association with the Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS). The aim of the programme is to enable people to make practical use of their scientific awareness in daily life. The JSS vice-chairman, N. Balagopal, said that in Kollam district the programme is being implemented in the backward areas of Thenmala and Aryankavu. The programme for Aryankavu will be inaugurated by the Adoor MP, Chengara Surendran, on November 4. The programme for Thenmala will be inaugurated the next day by the Pathanapuram MLA, K.B. Ganesh Kumar.
