PANAJI, NOV. 4. The Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd., (KRCL) has introduced a pension scheme for its employees with retrospective effect from June 1, 1998. Till now, the KRCL was paying only the Provident Fund. The Managing Director, B. Rajaram, handed over the first pension cheques to four retired employees at Margao recently. He said the Board of Directors of the KRCL recently approved the demand of the workers' union to have a pension scheme.
Trains reintroduced
Some trains which had been stopped via the Konkan Railway route after the derailment of the Matsyagandha Express during the monsoon have been reintroduced. They are Train Nos. 2051/2052 Dadar (Terminus) Madgaon Dadar (Terminus), the Jan Shatabdi Express and Train Nos. 2431/2432, the Thiruvananthapuram Rajdhani Express.
