Letters to the Editor
Sir, The verdict in favour of George W. Bush should not be construed as a vindication of his policies in Iraq. The vote is only for a safer United States and not for a devastated Middle East.
Varahasimhan Srinivasan,
Sir, Mr. Bush's victory is a reward for an aggressive campaign, the hard work of Republicans and his forceful speeches assuring the Americans that he alone can win the war on terror.
K. Sivaramakrishnan,
Sir, The verdict has exposed a flawed electoral system and a deeply divided nation. Religion's place as a key political factor was also confirmed in this election.
Meenakshi Chandiramani,
