NAGAPATTINAM, NOV.4. Water supply from Grand Anicut into the Cauvery and the Vennar remained suspended for irrigation for the sixth day today. However, Grand Anicut canal is getting a meagre supply of 812 cusecs. There was a fall of 1,852 cusecs in the inflow into the Mettur reservoir this evening and the dam received 8,298 cusecs against 10,150 cusecs last evening. Discharge of water for delta irrigation remained suspended for more than a week due to heavy rain. However, 100 cusecs is being discharged from the dam. No rainfall was recorded in the delta region of Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam districts in the last 24 hours till this morning.
