HYDERABAD, NOV. 4. The Hindu -Young World Painting Competition, 2004 will be held on November 7 at the Institution of Engineers, Visweswarayya Bhavan, Khairatabad from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The response this year to the painting competition was overwhelming, with over 1,500 contestants participating in the preliminary rounds from the city as well as from Kurnool, Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam and Gulbarga among other places. Of these, 200 each from the senior and junior levels were selected for the finals to be held on November 7. Well-known artists, Rajeswara Rao and Padma Reddy, will be the judges for the finals while National Green Corps director, W.G. Prasanna Kumar will be the chief guest and give away the prizes. The intimation letters for the selected contestants have been sent to their schools.
