Warne targets Brisbane Test against Kiwis

MUMBAI, NOV. 4. Three members of the Australian team — injured leg-spinner Shane Warne, batsman Brad Hodge and all-rounder Cameron White — returned home. ``Warne, White and Hodge left for Australia on Wednesday,'' the Australian media manager Jonathan Rose said.

Warne was unable to play in the fourth Test against India after fracturing the thumb in his bowling hand during a practice session on the eve of the Test. Hodge and White were also sent home after they were not picked in the playing XI for the last Test.

Warne is, however, eager to get back to international cricket later this month against New Zealand. He has been told he would be sidelined for between two and four weeks, but is hopeful of getting back in time for the Brisbane Test against New Zealand beginning on November 18.

``At the moment it's throbbing a bit after flying,'' said Warne. ``But I'd say I'm a 50-50 chance for Brisbane. If it heals quickly in the next couple of weeks, I should be fine.'' — AP
