Bakery case: accused says activist threatened him

By Our Special Correspondent

MUMBAI, NOV. 4. A day after the prime eyewitness in the Best Bakery case, Zahira Sheikh, levelled charges against journalist and activist Teesta Setalvad, an accused in the case, Dinesh Rajbhar, said that Ms. Setalvad had threatened him yesterday evening.

Rajbhar, identified by witnesses as being part of the rioting mob that attacked the Best Bakery, today filed an application in the court and told the additional sessions judge, Abhay Thipsay, that Ms. Setalvad said, "Hum tumko dekh lenge [we will take care of you]," yesterday evening while leaving the court.

The application was taken on record by the court and the judge asked Rajbhar's lawyers whether they wanted any action taken.

Ms. Setalvad said, "I was in the court at that time, and I deny the allegation which is baseless."
