By Our Special Correspondent

Bangalore Nov. 4. Two former State Janata Party leaders — R. Pradeep Kumar Reddy and Rajesh Gundu Rao — have urged the Union Finance Minister, P. In a letter to Mr. Chidambaram, they have also demanded an investigation into the genuineness of the claim that the sword was in the possession of Tipu Sultan. The probe should establish whether the weapon is a fake, they have said. If it is certified to be genuine, the sword should rightly belong to the Union or State Government and kept in the National or State museum and not left with an individual collector. They have alleged that Mr. Mallya's primary purpose in acquiring the sword was to flaunt his riches. He displayed the sword at election rallies to garner the votes of a particular community flouting the election laws, they have said.
