HISAR, NOV. 4. Former Haryana minister Joginder Singh Jog today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Mr Jog, who was a minister in the Congress government headed by Mr Bhajan Lal, had been later associated with Mr Bansi Lal -- the president of the erstwhile Haryana Vikas Party. He was inducted in the BJP in the presence of state party chief Ganeshi Lal here. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Lal said in the coming Assembly elections in Haryana, the main contest would be between the BJP and the Congress. The fate of ruling Indian National Lok Dal would be worse than its performance in the Lok Sabha elections, he added. The INLD had lost all the 10 Lok Sabha seats and the party could only maintain a lead in about dozen of the 90 Assembly segments in the state. He said the populist announcements being made by the Chief Minister ahead of elections would not to be able to save his party from an unprecedented defeat. UNI
