Sudheer triumphs

BANGALORE, NOV.4. S. Sudheer won the title in the Mikhail Tal memorial chess tournament, here on Thursday. Though three players — Sudheer, Sarma and Sushrutha Reddy — tied for the top spot with six points apiece. Sudheer, however, was declared the winner based on his better tie-break score.

The final placings (Top 10): 1. S. Sudheer (6); 2. Atish Das Sarma (6); 3. Sushrutha Reddy (6); 4. S. Raghavendra (5.5); 5. M. Raju (5); 6. H. G. Bharadwaj (5); 7. V. Raghavendra (5); 8. H. S. Karthik (5); 9. S. Hariharan (5); 10. G. Jagannathan (5).
