Fostering communal harmony

By Our Staff Reporter

CHENNAI, NOV. 4. The Sufidar Trust, a body of disciples of Sufi preacher Shahenshah Baba Nebhraj Sahib, offered snacks to Muslim devotees at the Triplicane Big Mosque to break their Ramzan fast. On Wednesday, about 30 volunteers of the Trust arrived at Big Mosque a few minutes before the evening prayers and offered the visitors `vadai'.

The volunteers said they offer food to all who visit the mosque every day during Ramzan in an exercise aimed at fostering inter-faith harmony. Lal Chatlani, son of the present spiritual head of the Trust, Dada Ratan Chand Sahib, was present.

The members visit orphanages, old age homes and leprosy care centres and organise feasts for the inmates.
