THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, NOV. 4. The Minister for Welfare of Scheduled and Backward Communities, A.P. Anil Kumar, said here on Thursday that a new housing scheme was being drawn up for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The Minister said at a conference of district-level officers of his department here that the implementation the existing scheme should be completed this financial year itself as the new scheme was on the anvil. Mr. Anil Kumar urged the officials that they should ensure that the benefit of the schemes actually reached the beneficiaries. Priority should be accorded to housing schemes and distribution of educational benefits and efficient running of hostels for students, he said.
