THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, NOV. 4. A 25-year-old man was killed and another injured when their motorbike lost control and rammed into an electric post at Poonkulam in the Thiruvallam police station limits on Thursday. The police identified the deceased as Sati, a resident of Peringamala. The injured person was identified as Binu. The accident occurred at around 1.30 p.m. The body of Sati, who died on the spot, has been kept at the Medical College Hospital (MCH) mortuary for post-mortem examination. Binu is under treatment at the MCH.
Police constables hurt
Two police constables were injured, one seriously, when the motorbike they were riding hit a Kerala State Electricity Board transformer near the Vizhinjam police station on Thursday afternoon. The police identified the injured as Francis (40) and Siby (29). Francis, who has sustained a serious head injury, has been admitted to a private hospital for specialised care. Siby, who fractured his leg, is under treatment at the MCH. The accident occurred at around 4 p.m. when the two were going towards Kovalam for evening patrol duty. The police said that the riders had lost control of the motorbike while trying to avoid colliding with a car coming from the opposite direction.
