Letters to the Editor
Sir, Ever since the UPA came to power, the Left parties have been shown in a bad light by the media. The Left has always raised the level of political debate from mandir-masjid and Savarkar to bread and butter issues. It has the least number of millionaire legislators, and the least number of legislators who face criminal charges. True decentralisation of power has been achieved by the Left Government in West Bengal. Staying in power for 27 years in times of `anti-incumbency' is a big achievement. Above all, the Left is the only real force that can counter communalism in the country. As objectivity in the media is sacred, a balanced view about the Left parties is required.
