The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at Safdarjung on Saturday were 27.4 and 11.5 degrees Celsius. While at Palam, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 27.7 and 11.9 degree Celsius respectively. Safdarjung and Palam recorded a maximum humidity of 93 and 81 per cent, the minimum was 33 and 35 per cent respectively.
Held for
taking bribe
Deputy Commissioner of Police (ACB) Bhairon Singh Gurjar said the ACB staff nabbed Gyan Chand, an upper division clerk with the MCD, while allegedly accepting the bribe from Desh Raj. Desh Raj had lodged a complaint with the ACB that the accused had demanded the bribe to release the PF and Insurance money due to his father Hirdaya Ram, who was working as a sweeper with the MCD at Shahadara in East Delhi.
Shot at
Prakash, a property dealer, was fired at four times allegedly by Jagdish in Punjabi Bagh area. He was immediately removed to a nearby hospital where his situation was stated to be serious, police sources said. The assailant fled after the attack and police have launched a manhunt to nab him, they said.
