NALGONDA, NOV. 6. The lone Telugu Desam MLA in the district, Uma Madhava Reddy (Bhongir), squatted on NH 9 for about one hour bringing traffic to a grind halt following a tiff with local Congress leaders over protocol issue at Chowtuppal on Saturday night. According to reporters reaching here, Congress activists reportedly asked the MLA to postpone the inauguration of the college building built at a cost of Rs.17 lakhs. They took exception to her name being chiselled before that of the Home Minister on the plaque. Ms. Uma, who waited at the venue for more than two hours amid protests of Congressmen, staged a `rasta roko' from 8 p.m. to 8.50 p.m. She withdrew the protest after the Joint Collector, Sridhar, promised to taking action against those responsible for the confusion.
