Vijayawada
By Our Special Correspondent
VIJAYAWADA, NOV. 7. The Panchayat Raj Minister and the district in-charge, J.C. Diwakar Reddy, has asked the Irrigation Department engineers to submit a detailed report on the availability of Krishna water for the second crop in the delta. The Minister who held discussions with the officials on the availability of water on Sunday told reporters that he wanted the officials to give a "realistic" picture so that all possibilities towards release of water to the second crop could be explored. "Once the report is submitted, the matter will be represented to the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy," the Minister said. Asked as to why the Government was not announcing dates of water release, the Minister said a decision could be taken after getting an idea about the availability of water, the quantum to be utilised for power generation and the demand in the delta region.
