VIJAYAWADA, NOV.7. Two inspection teams comprising officials of the revenue, police, fire services, Transco and Labour Departments have been constituted to monitor the functioning of cracker shops in the district. This decision was taken at a meeting attended by the District Collector, K. Prabhakar Reddy, the Sub Collector, Buddha Prakash Jyothi, and officials of various departments here on Saturday. n a statement, Mr. Reddy said the teams would inspect the premises of wholesale and retail cracker units to ensure that they complied with the prescribed safety norms. He warned that stern action would be taken against those violating the provisions of the Explosives Substance Act. The Collector asked people to alert the local MRO, police or fire station official in case they found any person selling or storing crackers for sale without valid licence.
