Confusion persists over blasts

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, NOV. 7. Confusion prevailed as to who was responsible for the recent serial blasts in and around Hyderabad.

Even as police claimed that Dalita Bahujana Shramika Vimukthi and Telangana National War, splinter groups of Communist Party of United States of India (CPUSI), were behind the explosions, two letters purportedly written by the groups to a regional newspaper office denied their involvement.

The DBSV letter was in the name of Mahesh and Linganna, for whom the Cyberabad police have issued look-out notices in connection with the blasts. It said they were bound by the rules of the ongoing peace talks between the Government and naxals. "There is no violence from opponent, the State and hence we too observe restraint," the letter quoted them as saying.

Another letter purportedly written by the Telangana Liberation Force secretary, Puli Anjaiah, stated that the group would "further step up violence" if the Government did not immediately stop work on Pulichintala project. "We're not sure if the words `further step up' indirectly suggest that they are owning responsible for the blasts," a police officer said.
