KOCHI, NOV. 7. Most educational institutions in the city, including schools and colleges, will not function tomorrow on account of a State-wide hartal called by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Cochin Univesity of Science and Technology and Mahatma Gandhi University have postponed their examinations scheduled for Monday. The new dates will be announced later, said university officials here today. However, the five Kendriya Vidyalayas in and around the city will function tomorrow. But their buses are not likely to ply, said the Principals of these schools. Among the CBSE schools that confirmed a holiday on Monday are all the Bhavans Vidyamandirs and Chinmaya Vidyalayas, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Al-Ameen Public School, Vyasa Vidyalaya, Greets Academy, Choice School, Cochin Public School, Rajagiri Public School and MG Public School. The Al-Ameen Educational Trust has given a holiday for all its institutions, including the Institute for Competitive Studies and the Training College at Edapally. The Mahatma Gandhi Public School, Chottanikkara, will be closed on Monday on account of the hartal.
