Around the City

Cloudy sky forecast

Partly cloudy sky with the minimum temperature hovering around 17 degrees Celsius has been the forecast for Monday. The city on Sunday recorded a maximum temperature of 29.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 18.8 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity stood at 64 per cent.

Management programme

The Institute of Public Enterprise will conduct a two-day management development programme `Management of organisational change' on November 8 and 9 on its premises in Osmania University. Executives from Central and State Public Sector Undertakings will take part in the programme. A book on `Soft skills for professional excellence,' covering personality development, managerial effectiveness and working together by retired bureaucrat J.M. Girglani will be released.

Loans sanctioned

Loan sanction letters to the tune of Rs. 150 crores were given away at the two-day State Bank of Hyderabad Festival Loan Mahostav that concluded at the Institute of Engineers, Khairatabad, here on Saturday. Home, personal, small business finance and two-wheeler loans topped the list. Those given the in-principal sanction should approach the bank branches concerned with required documents to avail the loan within a month. A 0.50 per cent to one per cent interested concession was given. The SBH has also launched two new schemes SBH C3 (credit to credit card holders) and SBH Journalist Plus.

Yoga training

The Department of Legal Metrology (Weights and Measures) will conduct a free programme on Yoga, releasing stress, meditation and Art of living under the aegis of Jiddu Krishnamurti Education society on its premises at Gandhinagar between 6.45 a.m. and 8 a.m. from November 8 to 10.

The programme is being conducted to promote awareness about consumer rights for Standards Weights and Measures with respect to various Industrial and essential commodities, according to a press release.

No power supply

There will be no power supply in the following areas of the twin cities from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. on Monday: Ameerpet, Durganagar, Punjagutta Colony, Police Quarters, and Rahmatnagar.

Silver craftwork exhibition

The District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Karimnagar district is organising exhibition-cum-sale of silver filigree works at Hotel Taj Residency from November 8 to 14.

The event is being organised to popularise the work of 225 silver filigree artisans from Karimnagar district, according to a press release.

IT courses

The Centre for Spatial Information Technology, JNTU, Kukatpally has announced two certificate courses -- Integrated GIS and CAD (four weeks duration) and AutoCAD (four weeks duration). The courses start from Monday.
