Ryots can verify cultivation details now

By Our Staff Reporter

TIRUVANNAMALAI, NOV. 8. The State Government has issued orders that farmers and others be allowed to verify the previous month's agricultural cultivation details with the `adangal' records available with the village administrative officers (VAOs) every month.

The Tiruvannamalai Collector, Satyabrata Sahoo, said the date fixed every month for the verification of the cultivation details would be intimated in the villages through `thandora' (drums) a week before the prescribed date.

Farmers could get the details by perusing the `adangal' records of the VAOs on the prescribed dates.

In case the details found in the VAO's records are wrong, they could appeal to the tahsildar concerned within two days. The tahsildar would take steps to conduct an external audit by higher officials and enable the farmers to carry out the right type of crop cultivation.

If the farmer is not satisfied even with the tahsildar's action, he/she could appeal to the Revenue Divisional Officer concerned within three days. Their complaints would be enquired into and orders on the correct information issued within seven days, the release said.
