ERODE, NOV.9. The Erode Fire and Rescue Services personnel are keeping vigil round-the-clock to avert incidence of fire accidents, in and around the town on the eve of Deepavali. Fire tenders had been kept ready to meet any eventuality, the Fire and Rescue Service Officer, V.R. Karunanidhi, said today. In a press release, he said that they conducted intensive propaganda on fire prevention and rescue operations in the district, especially in schools. A mobile fire tender had also been pressed into service.
