CHENNAI, NOV. 9. In only his second weekend in World Series, India's Karun Chandhok finished eighth in Race 1 and fourth in Race 2 in the final round of the Nissan World Series in Jerez, Spain. Karun qualified eighth and fifth respectively for the two races. Driving as a part of `Team India' alongside Narain Karthikeyan with TATA RC Motorsport, Karun got off to a fine start in the first race moving alongside the Frenchman Tristian Gommendy and Narain going into the first corner. Unfortunately Karun could not slow down and tapped Narain from behind. The collision left Karun with a broken front wing but he still continued and finished eighth. At the start of Race 2, Karun lost a place to local boy Adrian Valles. Karun went on to hold the sixth spot until his pit-stop on lap 6. Karun then closed in on the Yugoslav driver Milos Pavlovic but Pavlovic had committed a pit-lane infringement and was penalised which ensured Karun's fourth place finish.
