TIRUNELVELI, NOV. 9. The Minister for Industries, Nainar Nagendran, disbursed loans to 39 self-help groups, amounting to Rs.14.38 lakh and 30 tri-cycles and hearing aid to the physically challenged, donated by Victory Trust of Aayaalpatti near Sankarankovil, at a function held here on Sunday. The Minister said the law and order situation in the State had improved a lot after the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, assumed office. The Collector, Atul Anand, said over 12 dropouts in the district had been brought back to the school, thanks to the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan programme. The Mayor, A. Jayarani, the Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency, P. Ponniah, the Special Officer, Tirunelveli District Central Co-operative Bank, C. Rajendran, the director of Victory Trust, Bose, and others participated.
