Intel CEO to visit India

NEW DELHI, NOV. 9. The CEO of the world's largest chip manufacturing company Intel, Craig Barret, will visit India on November 18 and is scheduled to meet the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, and the Planning Commission Deputy Chairman, Montek Singh Ahluwalia. Mr. Barret will also call on the Union IT and Communications Minister, Dayanidhi Maran, official sources said. He will visit Bangalore where Intel has its chip design centre.

Though Mr. Barret's agenda has not been disclosed, it is believed he will announce Intel's next round of expansion. The development centre in Bangalore is working on the next generation mobile chipset. — PTI
