Ranbaxy scouting for talent in the U.S.

SILICON VALLEY, NOV. 9. Indian pharmaceutical major Ranbaxy Laboratories is scouting for scientists in the U.S. to expand its research and development facilities in India. Seeking to increase its share in the global market, the company is looking for scientists to add to its research and development team in New Delhi, senior company officials, participating in the annual meeting of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), said here.

Ranbaxy is looking to recruit around 40 pharmaceutical scientists in areas of early discovery and development of drugs, quality assurance and regulatory affairs through the career centre at the meet, the sources said. The company at present employs more than 1,100 scientists, some of them from the U.S. and the U.K. Besides India, the company is also looking for qualified personnel for its facilities in the U.S., China, Singapore and the U.K.

A senior delegation, led by Director Human Resources, Udbhav Ganjoo, is now in Baltimore, Maryland, to take part in the meeting. Ranbaxy is the only international company to attend the annual AAPS meeting this year.
