Gate on border to honour Mahatma

RAXAUL (BIHAR), NOV. 9. A gate named after Mahatma Gandhi will soon be constructed on the Indo-Nepal border here in East Champaran district of Bihar, the Rashtriya Janata Dal MP from Bettiah, Raghunath Jha, said today.

The Mahatma started his Indigo Movement here.

The gate would be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1 crore at the main point in Raxaul on National Highway 28, which connects Kathmandu to Delhi, he said.

Mr. Jha said the Nepal Government had already constructed the entrance gate in the name of Adi Guru Shankaracharya at Birganj in its territory. — UNI
