SSP industry for higher subsidy

NEW DELHI: The single super phosphate (SSP) industry on Tuesday asked the Government to immediately increase its subsidy so that the ailing industry could be put back on revival track. The industry representatives has also urged the Government to formulate "favourable" policies and announce an ad hoc increase in subsidy till the time it comes out with the final package. Addressing presspersons here, representatives of leading SSP producing firms including Coromandel Fertilisers, Jubilant Organosys and Dharamsi Morarji, said the Rs. 900-crore industry had been suffering in recent years due to unfavourable government policies. — Our Staff Reporter
