Correction
With reference to the news report:
"In Tuticorin, salt pans are drying up fast" published in these columns on November 4, the Assistant Salt Commissioner, M.R. Dewle, writes:
"After the function, when I was working at my office at about 2.45 p.m., your reporter asked a clarification about production of salt and I gave the clarification. At about 4.40 p.m., when I was in a meeting in my chamber, I received a call from your reporter. I told him not to disturb and he could take a prior appointment and then come. But your reporter has said I refused to comment."
He did not "refuse to comment," as reported.
