`Administration at your doorstep' campaign

By Our Special Correspondent

JAIPUR, NOV. 9. The Rajasthan Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Kalulal Gujjar, has announced that the State Government would launch a "Prashaasan Aapke Dwaar'' (administration at your doorstep) campaign in the rural areas from November-end to December to settle people's grievances and solve their problems.

The camps to be organised in villages during the campaign will apprise the people of various public welfare schemes and ensure implementation of development programmes, besides offering on-the-spot solution to the issues confronting the villagers.

Mr. Gujjar, addressing a function after inaugurating a secondary school in Hinsnia village of Bhilwara district on Saturday, said various schemes, such as group insurance for villagers, crop insurance, farmers' credit cards, allocation of funds for repairing ponds damaged in monsoon rains, and upgradation of schools were already in force with the aim of benefiting the people at large.

The Minister said the Rural Development Department was successfully operating an insurance scheme covering a minimum of four members of the selected families, while the credit cards had benefited lakhs of farmers. "We have made a provision for giving Rs. 25,000 as an immediate assistance to the next of kin of farmers dying during agricultural works,'' he said.

Mr. Gujjar said the villagers could obtain detailed information regarding all these schemes during the camps as well as from the Panchayat Samiti offices. He said the proposed Jalampura-Kesarpura drinking water supply scheme worth Rs. 15.44 lakhs would be sanctioned soon to benefit Hinsnia and neighbouring villages.
