NEW DELHI, NOV. 9 . The Delhi High Court today adjourned till November 17 the hearing of the petition filed by Reliance Infocomm seeking to restrain the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd. (MTNL) from disconnecting its points of interconnections. Reliance Infocomm sought adjournment as talks were on with the MTNL, which has demanded Rs. 309 crores for alleged routing of international calls as local ones. The matter was to come up for hearing today before Justice Vikramjit Sen. According to MTNL sources, notices demanding about Rs. 309 crores had been served on Reliance for their alleged failure to pay the amount for routing international calls as local ones in Delhi and Mumbai circles. It is also learnt that Reliance yesterday deposited Rs. 10 crores each for both the circles. Last week, on a similar charge by the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd., a Division Bench of the court directed Reliance to deposit Rs. 40 crores and to confirm through an affidavit that it (Reliance Infocomm) had already taken steps disconnecting such routes.
