VIJAYAWADA, NOV. 9. Even as resentment of the Congress leaders from coastal Andhra over the comments by senior leaders like G. Venkataswamy on Pulichintala project are continuing, the AICC secretary and Andhra Pradesh affairs in-charge, K. Jayakkumar, has sought to play down the controversy claiming that the issue can be sorted out at the State level. The comments made by Mr. Venkataswamy and the APCC president, K. Keshava Rao's "indirect support" to them have generated considerable heat in the party's Krishna district unit. The Congress legislators, led by the District Congress Committee president, Mandali Buddha Prasad, reportedly shot off a letter to the APCC leadership and the AICC requesting them to initiate action against those who made comments hurting the sentiments of people of other regions.
