Partly cloudy

CHENNAI, NOV.9. The skies will be partly cloudy on Wednesday with a possibility of a shower in some areas during late night or morning hours.

On Tuesday, Nungambakkam recorded a maximum temperature of 31.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 23.8. The humidity was 92 per cent. Meenambakkam recorded a maximum temperature of 31.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 24.2. The humidity was 86 per cent.

Convocation

The convocation of the Centre for Social Initiative and Management was held on Saturday. K.Parasaran, Senior Counsel and former Attorney General delivered the convocation address and gave away the diplomas to 10 social entrepreneurs.

Maths lab

Chettinad Vidyashram inaugurated its Maths Lab called Solutions recently. The school correspondent Kumararani Meena Muthiah launched the lab equipped with tools including abacus, geo board, jodo sticks, blocks and the `pallanguzhi.'

Membership

Membership is open for Xplorers Club, for children in the age group 8 to 18. The club will host workshops on vedic maths, memory observation, creative writing and also conduct quizzes. For details, call 2814 4486.
