BANGALORE, NOV. 9. The Immigration officials at the Bangalore Airport arrested two Malaysian nationals and an Indian in the early hours of Tuesday on the charge of cheating a bank in Delhi. According to police sources, the Immigration officials arrested Joseph Abraham, Anwra and Afzal Kanoj a few minutes before they were to board a flight to Singapore. The authorities of a bank in Delhi had complained to the police that the three persons had obtained credit cards by giving false addresses and purchased gold jewellery worth lakhs of rupees using the cards. The Delhi police had issued "lookout notices" for them, the sources said. The accused had purchased gold ornaments from a jewellery shop on Richmond Road here on Monday. They allegedly possessed fake passports, the sources said.
Sandalwood oil recovered
Forest Cell officials recovered 9.25 kg of sandalwood oil from three persons near a hotel in Cubbon Park police station limits on Monday night. The value of the oil seized was estimated to be Rs. 4.5 lakh. The names of the three accused were given by Forest Cell officials as Ibrahim Khaleel (37) and Mohammad of Kasargod, Kerala, and H. Abdul (50) of Kundapur, Udupi district. The accused were allegedly smuggling the oil for selling it in the illegal market, the officials said. The Cubbon Park police have registered a criminal case under Karnataka Forest Act.
