Letters to the Editor
Sir, The Pakistan President, Pervez Musharraf's offer of various options on the Kashmir issue is highly desirable and timely. Gen. Musharraf has asked India to ponder over some kind of a `give and take' approach. India and Pakistan, both being nuclear powers, cannot pressure each other. After more than half-a-century, nothing has been achieved except acrimony between the neighbours and poverty in their ranks due to the colossal defence expenditure. The need of the hour is to settle the issue.
