THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, NOV. 10. Work on the water supply scheme under the Theerapadham Urban Development Project (TUDP) resumed today afternoon after project officials met the Mayor, J. Chandra, and agreed to seek the local body's clearance to dig up the roads. The Mayor said the project officials had been instructed to continue work on the road sections which had been dug up for laying pipes. She said this was done to minimise the hardships caused to residents. The Mayor said she had received an assurance from the project special officer, G. Ravindran, on securing permission from the Corporation before taking up work in other areas. "TUDP has been asked to submit sketches of the project and deposit road repair funds." On Tuesday, the Corporation Council had urged the Government to prosecute the project officials for digging roads without securing permit from the local body.
