UDUPI, NOV. 12. Sri Vishvesha Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math today expressed anguish over the arrest of Sri Jayendra Saraswati. Talking to UNI over telephone, the swamiji said that the Kanchi seer's arrest was unfair. The arrest of a Peethadhipathi with a non-bailable warrant in a case which was not yet proved was not correct and was uncalled for, he said. The Kanchi seer Jayendra Saraswati was arrested in Mahbubnagar, Andhra Pradesh, on Thursday by the Tamil Nadu police in connection with the September 3 murder of the manager of the Lord Varadaraja Swamy Temple in Kancheepuram. The Paryaya Math swamiji, Vishvapriya Tirtha, of the Admar Math, expressed shock over the arrest of Jayendra Saraswati and said he had not planned to leave the country and his arrest at midnight with a non-bailable warrant was totally unwarranted.
