State badminton meet from Nov. 15

MADIKERI, NOV. 12. The Karnataka State badminton championship will be held at the North Coorg Club premises here from November 15 to 18, the organising secretary of the Kodagu District Badminton Association, P.G. Papan Kumar, said here on Friday.

Rohan Castilino is the top seed followed by Utsav Prakash, Shivaprakash and Ajit Vijetilak in the men's events.

In the women section, Aditi Biswas is top seeded followed by Varsha Belavadi, Ashwini Ponnappa and Nishchita as second, third and fourth seeds respectively.

In the veterans' event, former National players, P.G. Chengappa, Arun Poovaiah, Vasant Kumar and Vinay Siddaraj were participating, Mr. Kumar stated.

The inauguration would be at 5 p.m. on November 15.

The guests would be C.S. Arun Machaiah, MLC, and K.K. Chengappa, Director, Coorg Foundation.

The president of the Kodagu District Badminton Association, C. Madan Somanna, would preside over the function.
