UltraTech cement launched

HYDERABAD: UltraTech CemCo (formerly L&T Cement) and now part of the Aditya Birla group, announced the launch of UltraTech Cement here. O. P. Puranmalka, Group Executive President and Chief Marketing Officer, said in a release here that nothing had changed except the name. The quality, technology, the plants and the people remain the same. It is the same plants at Kovaya and Jaffarabd in Gujarat, Awarpura in Maharashtra, Hirmi in Chattisgarh and Tadipatri in Andhra Pradesh that provide the quality product, he said. Between UltraTech and Grasim, the Aditya Birla group's cement capacity was in excess of 31 million tonnes per annum, of which 17 million tpa came from UltraTech, he said.
