Manmohan to launch new scheme

HYDERABAD,
NOV. 12.
The Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, will launch the National Food For Work Programme at Alur village in Chevella mandal of Ranga Reddy district, near here, on November 14. Coinciding with Jawaharlal Nehru's birth anniversary, the launch of the programme is aimed at providing wage employment in the 150 backward districts identified in the country eight of them in Andhra Pradesh.
\The State is expected to receive over one lakh tonnes of rice for the districts of Ranga Reddy, Mahbubnagar, Warangal, Nalgonda, Khammam, Adilabad, Anantapur and Cuddapah. A cent per cent Centrally-sponsored scheme, it is meant for the rural poor looking for wage employment, all through the year.
