Chidambaram gets 23cm rain

CHENNAI, NOV. 12. Northeast monsoon has been active over Tamil Nadu. Rainfall occurred at many places over Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over Andhra Pradesh. Kerala and north interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over south interior Karnataka and dry weather prevailed over coastal Karnataka.

Parangipettai and Chidambaram (Cuddalore dt.) recorded a very heavy rainfall of 25 and 23 cm respectively. The other chief amounts rainfall recorded in cm are: Manamelkudi, Tiruthuraipoondi and Kodavasal (both Thiruvarur dt.) 6 each,

FORECAST (valid until the morning November 14): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, at many places over interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over coastal and south interior Karnataka.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema and mainly dry weather will prevail over north interior Karnataka, north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
