TIRUCHI, NOV.12 . The State Bank of India, Town Branch, donated new saris to over 100 blind women trainees of the Rehabilitation Centre for Blind Women at Mannarpuram under the auspices of the bank's community services scheme. At a function organised here at the centre recently, the Chief Educational Officer, V.C. Rameswara Murugan, handed over the saris to the blind women. The Chief Manager of the Branch, R. Sivakumar, the Executive Director of the NGO, SHARON, S. Dhanaraj and the Honorary Director of the Rehabilitation Centre, Priya Theodore, spoke. At another function held by the bank's Thennur branch, new clothes to 50 blind workers and their family members were distributed. The president of the Organisation for the Rehabilitation of Blind in Tiruchi, M. Ramchandran, Manager of the Thennur branch, P. Selvaraj, its deputy manager, R. Balaji, and the secretary of ORBIT, P.R. Pandi, spoke.
